Terms & disclaimer

Last updated 7 November 2026

Information only

Break Tracker provides forecast estimates, sourced general guidance and user-submitted intel. These are not real-time observations, professional advice, rescue services or safety guarantees. Forecasts, ratings, recommendations, locations, camera availability and reports may be inaccurate, incomplete or outdated. Later forecasts are less certain. Offshore swell is not the wave height at the beach.

Your responsibility

Check local weather warnings, tides, currents, patrol advice, access restrictions and hazards yourself. Decide whether conditions suit your ability and equipment. Do not rely on this app to decide whether entering the water is safe. Surfing involves serious risks including injury and death. Never use the contact form for emergencies; call 000 in an Australian emergency.

Liability and non-excludable rights

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Break Tracker and its operator make no warranties about the information or availability of the service and disclaim liability for loss, injury, damage or other consequences arising from reliance on forecasts, recommendations, reports or use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights, consumer guarantees or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law. A disclaimer does not remove every legal obligation.

Community and accounts

Use your own account and a protective public alias. Do not post harassment, threats, misleading intel or private information about others. Only upload photos you are entitled to share. Reports and replies may be moderated or removed. Votes reflect community feedback, not verification or a safety endorsement.

Contact and privacy

Contact messages are private to the sender and owner administrator, not public or visible to moderators. They are stored to handle your enquiry; replies appear in your contact history. Avoid including sensitive personal information. Contact the owner for questions or deletion requests.
